The legendary Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés expressed his sadness over the death of El Taiger, who passed away this Thursday, October 10, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after several days fighting for his life.

Through his Instagram account, Chucho shared a photo with El Taiger, accompanied by a message full of respect and sorrow: “Very sad to hear the news of @el_taiger's passing. I loved knowing you. Rest in peace and much light for your spirit.” The words of the jazz master resonated among his followers, who joined in condolences and messages of support.

Just a few days ago, Chucho Valdés had dedicated a prayer for the recovery of El Taiger when he was in critical condition in the hospital after having been shot in the head.

At that moment, he wrote: “Prayer to Olodumare for the health of @el_taiger,” accompanying the message with a delicate piano piece that he played especially for him.

Following the confirmation of El Taiger's passing, social media has been flooded with messages of sadness and shock.
