Yeny Valdés, former vocalist of Los Van Van and current member of Teambahia Music, shared a melancholic message following the death of reggaeton artist El Taiger, who passed away last Thursday after being hospitalized due to a gunshot wound to the head on October 3.

Valdés recalled the conversations they both had recently to collaborate on a project that never came to fruition.

"Today I read this message from El Taiger again, and it makes me sad about everything... We didn't manage to accomplish anything... Very strong," expressed the singer with evident sorrow.

The news of El Taiger's death has shocked the artistic community and his followers, both in and out of Cuba.

Jorge Junior, cousin of El Taiger and director of the group Los 4, traveled to Miami this Friday to take on the role of spokesperson for the family.

El Taiger will be cremated. Afterwards, his ashes will be taken to Havana so he can rest alongside his mother.

The pain from this loss has resonated in Cuban music, not only because of the artist who left, but also for the creative opportunities, like the collaboration with Valdés, that were forever cut short with the death of José Manuel Carbajal.
