Ten months have passed since the disappearance of the young Cuban Karildi Caridad Marín in Havana, and her family is still seeking answers to the question of what happened to her.
His brother Yoandri Marín, who during this time has shared messages with the girl's photo online to ensure the case does not fall into oblivion, published a new message in which he raises questions and reproaches regarding the disappearance of his family member.
“Today my sister marks 10 months missing and the authorities have not provided any answers about what could have happened. The family, although resigned to her absence, has always fought to know what happened to her... Today I am left with a question without an answer: What happened to my sister?” she wrote on Facebook.
The young man, who has been providing updates on the case month by month and sending messages to his sister in hopes that she might read them at some point, said he feels disappointed with the police's performance.
"This has disappointed me a lot, to be honest. How does a 24-year-old girl and mother of a baby disappear in a country without borders?... I just ask God to protect you from all human evil and to take care of you. Your family loves you and hopes to hear from you... Time will tell, there is nothing hidden between heaven and earth. We love you," he added.
Karildi is a resident of Párraga, Arroyo Naranjo municipality, Havana. She disappeared on December 14 of last year, and there is still no information about her whereabouts.
His brother has expressed his frustration several times, but he has always reaffirmed his decision to continue the search.
"It cannot be possible that my sister has been missing for almost six months and so far we have not made any progress that leads us to a clear answer about her disappearance. Time passes but the pain remains the same, and I believe that every day it increases, as the uncertainty is very painful," she said in June.
He has also requested speed in the resolution of this disappearance. "Solve the case of my sister, as time is running and it is not just one day since her disappearance, it has been almost six months now. We need answers," he asked the police when half a year had passed without his sister at home.
