Cuban actress Aly Sánchez is overflowing with emotion, and rightfully so. Her short documentary De Banao para el mundo, part of the show celebrating her 20 years of artistic career, has been nominated at the 48th Annual Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards 2024 in the categories of Nostalgia - Short Form Content, Writing - Short Form Content, and Directing - Short Form Content.
"It doesn't matter where you come from, only your work and effort determine where you will go," Aly wrote this Tuesday on her Instagram account alongside several photos and videos from her visit last January to her hometown Banao with Yoyi, Preña Palma, and El Mocho.
The documentary, created in collaboration with Yulma García and Kristy Espinoza under the production of Billionaires Group in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is a project filled with love that both Aly and her team wanted to dedicate to the audience. And although the nomination has caused a stir among her followers, it is not the first time that the Cuban actress and comedian has been nominated for an Emmy. In 2022, Aly was already nominated along with her show El News Café from Univision, at the 46th edition of the Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards, in the Lifestyle category - Short or Long Form Content. On that occasion, she shared the nomination with her co-host Alberto Sardiñas and five other team members.
This most recent announcement has sparked a wave of congratulations and reactions on social media. The excitement is reflected in every comment: "What a beautiful project!
