Body found floating in the bay of Santiago de Cuba.

The tragic discovery took place on the morning of this very Tuesday.

On the morning of this Tuesday, the body of a man "presumably drowned" was found floating in the waters of the bay of Santiago de Cuba.

The tragic discovery took place near the Molinera Frank País, located on the tourist road of the Altamira neighborhood in Santiago de Cuba, as revealed on social media by journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, may have been a resident of 11th street, who was engaged in fishing in the area, according to residents from the area who spoke to the mentioned communicator.

As of the closing of this report, no official information has emerged regarding the body found in the bay. There is also no evidence that the cause of death was drowning.

If confirmed, unfortunately, the number of people who have drowned in Santiago de Cuba in recent months has increased.

In the most recent case, at the end of September, a man just over 50 years old drowned at Playa Siboney.

In August, the case of Danger Curo Padilla was reported, a nine-year-old boy residing in Boniato who died while bathing in the Chalons reservoir, the oldest dam in the country.

Also in August, a woman identified as Amarilis Asin Sosa died after drowning at Buey Cabón beach, in the municipality of Guamá.

Previously, at the end of May, another young man died after drowning at La Estrella beach, a small stretch of coastline near Morro Santiago.

Just a few days before that incident, two other young people had drowned at Sardinero beach, also in the main municipality of Santiago de Cuba, when a group of nine people - including three minors - were swimming in that dangerous coastal stretch, where it is officially prohibited to do so.

In this case, the first young woman who passed away was identified as Rachel Mora Torres, 20 years old and a resident of Mangos de Baraguá. The other deceased was Yasel Alberto Bicet, also 20 years old and a resident of the Abel Santamaría neighborhood, who was missing for several hours, although his body was later located.
