Several election office websites in Florida experienced technical failures this Monday due to the high traffic their servers encountered, affecting counties such as Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco.

On the first day of early voting, citizens faced difficulties accessing key information about polling places and schedules. According to the website Centro Tampa, the issues were attributed to the technology provider VR Systems, which stated that it had not detected any signs of malicious activity.

These issues on the websites did not affect the security or the count of the votes, but they complicated access to crucial data, causing frustration among voters.

VR Systems, based in Tallahassee, has been at the center of controversy since similar problems occurred during the primary elections in August. The company reported that it has been working together with external experts to improve its infrastructure and prevent future incidents.

While some counties, such as Hillsborough and Pasco, managed to restore basic versions of their websites with essential information, others like Broward were still showing error messages, which prompted the county's Supervisor of Elections, Joe Scott, to take immediate action to switch providers.

Scott revealed that the new Broward website, developed by the company Pantheon, would be launched throughout the day, hoping to prevent further crashes during the electoral period.

Despite the interruption on the websites, election officials emphasized that the voting process and vote counting were not affected. However, the situation has raised concerns among citizens about the reliability of the technological infrastructure in one of the country's most important elections.

Almost 14 million Americans have already cast their votes in eight states for the presidential election taking place on November 5 in the United States, facing Republican Donald Trump against Democrat Kamala Harris, marking a record number of participation during early voting in the country.

A recent poll conducted in Florida by the Mason-Dixon firm for Telemundo 51 and NBC6 provided insight into voters' opinions regarding the presidential elections, the battle for the Senate, and some constitutional amendments that will be put to a vote.

The survey revealed that Trump would have a six-point lead over Harris. The results of the poll – conducted among 625 registered voters – indicate that the Republican ticket of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance has 49 percent of the preferences compared to 43 percent for the Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
