A Cuban woman, desperate to recover her pitbull puppy, turned to social media this Thursday to offer a reward of 15,000 pesos to anyone who finds it or provides information about its whereabouts.

In the Facebook group "Santa Fe Playa, BUY AND SELL," Amanda Lopez Torres indicated that the dog, blue in color and named Lufy, was stolen on the night of Tuesday in the Santa Fe neighborhood, in the Havana municipality of Playa.

The owner, visibly upset, asked for help by mentioning that her son is very distressed about the animal's disappearance. "I know this group is not for this, but I need to find my puppy," she wrote.

Two weeks ago, a Cuban also sought help to find his lost dog in Havana and offered a reward of 50 dollars for any information leading to the recovery of his pet.

These cases add to other recent ones in Cuba, where families have turned to social media as an alternative to find their lost pets and have even offered rewards.

In August, a family in Sancti Spíritus offered 200 dollars for their lost dog, while in April, a young man in Havana promised 50,000 pesos for the return of his pet.
