Alexander Otaola criticizes the use of El Taiger's image in "Papita Frita": "I can't believe it."

Alexander Otaola on the "Papita frita" music video: "What is Taiger's photo doing on the screen?"

The Cuban presenter Alexander Otaola reacted in his program to the controversy generated by the use of El Taiger's image in the music video for the song "Papita frita," the collaboration song by Lenier Mesa, Tekashi 6ix9ine, and Oniel Bebeshito.

The controversy began when Jorge Junior, leader of Los 4, expressed his displeasure over the inclusion of the image of his cousin El Taiger, who recently passed away, in the music video. Jorge Junior called the action disrespectful, emphasizing that he disagreed with how his cousin's image was used without consulting the family.

In response to Jorge Junior's words, Otaola reacted on his internet program and did not hide his astonishment at what he considered a lack of sensitivity. The host criticized that a song titled "Papita frita" included the image of someone who had just been cremated, pointing out that the title of the song is not appropriate to pay tribute to a deceased person.

"I can't believe there's a song dedicated to El Taiger and they call it 'Papita frita'. Logic tells you that if you're a guy who loves and respects the deceased, you don't name it 'Papita frita'," Otaola said.

"If the theme is not for El Taiger, what is El Taiger's photo doing on the screen?" he posed. For him, using the image of the deceased in a song with that title is not appropriate. An opinion that he shares with more Cubans and fans of El Taiger.

Finally, Otaola closed his comment on the subject by stating that he would not want to be remembered that way. "I don’t want people to remember me like that," he said, reaffirming that the use of El Taiger's image in the music video for "Papita frita" is not an appropriate tribute. His reaction adds to the criticisms already expressed by Jorge Junior and to the divided opinions among followers of the urban genre.
