A Cuban, visibly affected, has shared a video on TikTok expressing his frustration over the constant requests for help from his family in Cuba.
The user, who goes by @lachiwow on the platform, decided to vent and shared the situation in which he feels trapped, facing what he describes as a constant pressure to meet family expectations, while dealing with his own challenges and responsibilities abroad.
"And I wonder, what role do I play in my family?" the Cuban questions with a tone of despair. In the video, he highlights that his family seems unable to understand the difficult economic situation he is facing, as his relatives on the Island constantly ask him for financial assistance, without considering his own needs and financial obligations in his daily life.
"They think that I have no debts here, that I don't have a life of my own," she expresses, emphasizing her feelings of loneliness and helplessness without the support of anyone else.
"And I have no one to help me, and I have no one to ask for help," she adds, highlighting the emotional and financial weight she has been bearing. Her frustration culminates in a question that reflects her emotional exhaustion: "How much longer am I going to be stuck in this situation?"
The video, which quickly went viral on the platform, has generated a wave of reactions and comments from people who relate to the situation.
Many users have expressed their empathy, noting that this is a reality that affects numerous Cuban emigrants, who often find themselves in the dilemma of trying to help their loved ones in Cuba while also trying to maintain their own lives abroad.
"Don't tell me anything; I'm in the same situation," "Here I am going crazy with the same issue," "What a misfortune for Cubans, and the numbers just don't add up," "Very sad, but true," can be read in the post.
This case has sparked a discussion on social media about the challenges faced by emigrants and how, in many instances, it is assumed that those living outside the Island are in a position of privilege, without taking into account the difficulties and sacrifices involved in living abroad.
