Cuban singer and musician Yulien Oviedo has expressed his outrage and sorrow following the recent arrest of Damián Valdes, who has been identified as the alleged culprit in the death of José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, known in the artistic community as El Taiger.
Oviedo, one of the most influential artists in the Cuban urban scene, shared a powerful message in his Instagram stories, where he harshly criticizes Valdes and reflects on the devastating impact of this tragedy.
"One countryman killed another. It is a true reality, and although justice will not bring our beloved José back to life, at least that son of a b**** who left four children without a father should rot in prison," Oviedo wrote in the post.
In his message, Oviedo also emphasized the importance of being cautious when choosing friendships in an artistic and social environment that, according to him, may be filled with individuals with ill intentions.
Oviedo, who has collaborated with numerous artists and is known for his straightforward style and unfiltered opinions, did not hide his disdain for Valdes, using strong language to describe him.
"You're full of nonsense, you don't deserve to live, idiot," he added, showing his deep rejection of someone he holds responsible for a tragedy that has left the Cuban artistic community in shock.
The singer concluded his message with a piece of advice for his colleagues: "Learn to choose your friends wisely, don't let just anyone in; not everyone approaches with good intentions."
These words reflect Oviedo's concern for the environment surrounding many artists, which, in his view, could lead to tragic consequences if precautions are not taken.
The news of El Taiger's death has shaken his followers and colleagues, who are still coming to terms with the loss of one of the most beloved figures in Cuban urban music. The investigation into the case is ongoing, while Oviedo's message continues to resonate among his fans and on social media.
Miami police confirmed that Damián Valdes-Galloso was the shooter responsible for the death of El Taiger. After being captured in New York, Valdes will be transferred to Miami-Dade to face charges.
Police chief Manuel Morales stated that there is video evidence and dismissed rumors of torture, affirming that it was a murder in Hialeah.
The body of El Taiger, an icon in cubatón, was found in a vehicle in front of Jackson Memorial Hospital. The community remains in shock over the crime.
