A Cuban woman living in Louisville shared on her TikTok profile part of the process of remodeling her kitchen, proudly showcasing the changes she has made to her home in response to a critical comment from a user who wrote: "You would have done better with paint instead of that cheap plastic."
The response from this Cuban, who identifies as @yisleblogs, was prompt. In a firm and clear tone, she chose to address the criticism while showcasing her kitchen in a video.
"She is referring to what I put on the shelf, yes, girl, come and buy it from me. Come and make it for me. You won't be talking about me; let's go to the market to buy the paint." With humor and determination, she explained that the remodeling of her house has been gradual, prioritizing other areas before she could fully focus on the kitchen.
"I'm sure I haven't told you, but when I bought the house, my kitchen was different. I want to design it to my taste someday, rather than having to fix what's already there; I want to create it as I envision. My taste is both simple and complicated," the Cuban remarked. She added that her home has many issues, comparing it to "a math book."
"I just added clarity with that application because the brick I had was very dark, and I don't like it that way. But I didn't want to do anything else. To relax, I put that on," she expressed, noting that the small changes she has made in her kitchen are temporary. Finally, in a relaxed tone, she concluded, "Today I'm going to try painting it," she said, before demonstrating the process of painting the brick.
The post quickly garnered empathy from her followers, who congratulated her for her positive attitude and practical approach to criticism.
"Hahaha, you always make me laugh!! How cute! I lost it when you started painting behind the fridge, hahaha, I didn’t care, it turned out beautiful! People always criticize everything." "I didn't like that you did what they wanted. One's time belongs to oneself, and you can’t imagine how much time and money it takes. That person has no problems; otherwise, they wouldn’t be criticizing." "That's just how I am. We bought the house at the beginning of the year, and I’ve practically painted the whole place—doors and all. I have a 5-month-old baby, and even with my bump, I painted quite a bit. I said, 'This girl is going to be a painter!'"
