A Cuban in the United States shared a direct and motivational message for all newcomers to the country who are facing challenges in their adaptation.
In the video, the user @jaimevillaclara spoke candidly from his personal experience: "Listen to this, and I know it will help you a lot," he began, describing the sense of discouragement that nearly all migrants feel upon arrival. "What you're feeling, we have all felt it, those of us who have been in this country for years," he said, encouraging his followers not to lose hope.
Jaime explained that, although the situation in the United States is not easy these days, he still considers it "the best country in the world." With a warm tone, he urged his followers not to give up and reminded them that if they could face daily challenges in Cuba, they could also overcome the difficulties in the U.S. "How can you give up here?" he questioned, comparing the constant struggle on the island with the challenges they now face across the sea. His advice was clear: adapt to the way of life in the country and take advantage of the opportunities.
The message resonated with many of his followers, who responded with grateful comments. "Thank you for sharing the full video, thank you for existing; that's how I feel too," one user commented, clearly moved. Another follower shared his story: "Thank you, brother; I'm not broken down, but starting again is truly difficult. I've been here for exactly six months, I’m already a resident; I came through family reunification, and I live in North Carolina. A hug to you." Another comment reflected what this message meant to those going through the same process: "A thousand thanks for your words; you have no idea how much I needed to hear this; I'm in that process."
For many, listening to @jaimevillaclara was the push they needed during moments of doubt. "Thank you for those truly helpful pieces of advice. I needed to hear something like that because I'm in exactly those moments," someone wrote. Others emphasized how Jaime's words reminded them that the struggle is for a better future: "Exactly, I don't understand how people consider going back, but here we are in the best country." Several individuals agreed that, although the beginnings are tough, "this country has many good things."
With expressions of gratitude like “blessings bro, great advice” and “wise words, that’s right man,” Jaime Cabrera became a source of encouragement for his compatriots through this video. With his straightforward message, he reminded them that giving up is not an option and that seizing the opportunity in the U.S. can change lives. “Everything is easier here,” Cabrera concluded, and his audience seemed to agree.
