A Cuban woman, who goes by @solanssamper1998 on TikTok, shared her experience at the Ross store in Hialeah while purchasing her first Christmas tree in the United States. After two years without decorating, she decided to get a large tree this year, but the shopping experience was not as relaxed as she had hoped.
"I don't know if it's because I live in Hialeah or what, but you're shopping… and you haven't even finished picking up your three bags from the top of the register, and they're already saying 'next,'" the Cuban woman recounted in the video. She mentions that while she was trying to pack her items, the cashier was already calling the next customer, not giving her any time to gather herself. "Sir, let me finish... I know you're in a hurry, but come on, let someone finish organizing their things."
The creator asked her followers to comment on whether these types of situations happen only in Hialeah or elsewhere. Users quickly responded with their own experiences and opinions. "That happens in Tampa too," someone remarked, while another person offered a tip to avoid the hassle: "Yes, that only happens at Ross, it's happened to me, but I don't approach the register until they clear out so they have to wait for me."
Some comments also responded to the way @solanssamper1998 expressed her frustration. One user remarked, "The way you tell the person next to you 'turn off the car' shows that you’re impatient. Take it easy, my love; after all, this is Hialeah."
The video has generated various reactions among Cubans who, like her, have experienced similar situations in discount stores.
