Denmark won the Miss Universe 2024 title on Saturday, during the 73rd edition of the event, which featured over 120 contestants from around the world.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who has just turned 21, was born in Søborg, Gribskov, but grew up in Copenhagen, where she still resides.
From the start of the competition, she was one of the judges' favorites due to her beauty, featuring striking blue eyes, her charisma, and her elegance.
The parade in which she wore a dress inspired by a Viking goddess in tribute to her country's culture was especially praised.
Victoria holds a degree in Business and Marketing, but she has also worked in the jewelry industry and as a professional dancer. She is a strong advocate for animal rights. In 2021, she achieved a spot in the Top 20 of Miss Grand International.
The jury consisted of Emilio Estefan, Gianluca Vacchi, Fariana, Lele Pons, Romero Britto, Eva Cavalli, and other figures from the art and fashion worlds.
Recently, the future Miss Universe 2024 shared a message with her over 77,000 followers, encouraging them to be brave and to work towards achieving their dreams.
"Every flower blooms in its own time. Empowerment comes from facing our own journeys and celebrating our strengths. To everyone out there: Never underestimate the power of your voice and your dreams. Use your passion courageously (...) Together, we can inspire others to grow, thrive, and make a difference in the world. Remember that you are capable of wonderful things! For her part, the Cuban Marianela Ancheta ranked in the top 30 of the competition.
The young woman from Villa Clara represented her country after 57 years of Cuba's absence from the most important beauty pageant in the world.
