A car ended up overturned off the road from Yaguajay to Meneses, in the stretch known as El Yigre, in the province of Sancti Spíritus.
"Right now in El Yigre, Yaguajay. There were no injuries. I don't know the reasons for the accident," reported a user on the Facebook group ‘Accidentes Buses & Camiones’ this Sunday.
Images shared by internet users showed a modern vehicle, belonging to an unidentified International Economic Association (AEI, or joint venture), overturned at the edge of the road.
Apparently, the driver lost control of the vehicle in the mentioned stretch, known for its treacherous curves.
After the rollover, the car was found with its wheels facing upward in what appears to be a small creek running alongside the road, one of many that flow through the area, whose landscape is also characterized by the elevations of Alturas del Norte.
At the time of writing this note, the causes of the accident and the condition of its occupants are unknown. Neither the authorities nor the official press have reported on the incident.
In mid-September, a vehicle belonging to the Special Brigade Troops collided with a motor tricycle in Sancti Spíritus. The accident, which took place in the area known as Kilo 12, reportedly did not result in any injuries.
In mid-June, a dramatic accident involving three trucks occurred on the National Highway in the province of Sancti Spíritus. Despite the shocking images shared on social media, witnesses reported that there were no fatalities in the incident.
In April, a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Cabaiguán, Sancti Spíritus, resulted in four injuries. The incident occurred on the Central Highway, in front of the entrance to the Guayos Railway Station.
