After the Spanish magazine ¡HOLA! confirmed the romance between Ana de Armas and Manuel Anido Cuesta, social media exploded with memes that criticize and parody the unexpected relationship between the Cuban actress and the stepson of Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The influencer Edmundo Dantés Junior shared on Facebook one of the photos published by ¡HOLA! magazine, in which he replaced Manuel Anido with the figure of Raúl Castro, accompanying it with a distinctive message: “What part of infiltrating Hollywood without drawing attention didn't you understand, my dear?”
"Repeat: One, studying acting in Cuba; two, that they 'approve' you; three, a fake fight with Corina, who is the agent that prepared you; four, get annoyed and leave for Spain, then the US, infiltrate... Enough," pointed out the influencer, suggesting a complicity between Ana de Armas and the Cuban regime.
Edmundo Dantés Junior published a second meme parodying the relationship between Ana de Armas and Lis Cuesta Peraza.
"After all, Ana de Armas's silence was not by chance," said the influencer Paparazzi Cubano on the social media platform Facebook.
The image shows the actress being "revered" by the Castro leadership, all posing as if it were an official photograph. The meme is ironically titled: "Family Portrait."
The artist Adrián Mas, a Villa Clara actor based in Miami known for his amusing sketches and his iconic character Channel, a parody that mocks Miguel Díaz-Canel, shared a video in which he imitates the leader expressing his opinion on the relationship between Ana de Armas and the president's stepson.
“Remember that you entered a family where we love love and hate hate, where we always revolutionize the revolution, where there is no need for revolution, in a family where the foundation is not the grandparents, parents, or cousins, but the lemon,” he said. “Anita filters that I know you know.”
On Facebook, a person named Kuba King shared an image based on a famous Cuban animated character, but contextualized to the viral news about the relationship between the actress and Lis Cuesta's son.
"And why do they want to burn her?" asks one character about the reason Ana de Armas is on a pyre. "She did something wicked; she's hooking up with the stepson of Sin-Gao," another replies.
The same reference to the nickname of the Cuban ruler was made in the meme shared on Facebook by Marcus Blank Espinosa.
The scene depicts a dinner between Ana de Armas and her boyfriend Manuel Anido Cuesta. He says, "So, how do I tell her that he doesn't have a house?" She replies, "Love, when are you going to take me to your parents' house?"
Another social media profile known for humorously criticizing the regime, Cardin.Ja, posted a video in which, satirically, Ana de Armas seemingly makes statements about her romance with Manuel Anido.
