Ana de Armas

Ana Celia de Armas Caso is a Cuban actress originally from Santa Cruz del Norte, Havana province (currently Mayabeque), Cuba. She was born on April 30, 1988.

He studied at the National School of Art of Cuba. His first job was in Una Rosa de Francia in 2005 at just 16 years old, but it was in 2007 that he made his true leap to fame by getting a role in the well-known Spanish television series El Internado.

From that moment on, her career has not stopped, with roles on the small screen in series like Hispania (2010-2011) and on the big screen in films like Mentiras y gordas (2009), Por un puñado de besos (2014).

In 2014, she exchanged Spain for Hollywood, and that was when her success began to transcend the Spanish-speaking world. She starred in Hands of Stone (2014) alongside Robert de Niro and Knock Knock (2015) with the famous actor Keanu Reeves. In 2017, her career took an important turn with the portrayal of Joi, the computer avatar in the cult science fiction film Blade Runner 2049, for which she received a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2019, films like The Night Clerk, Sergio, Waiting for Helen, and Knives Out were released, the latter earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Comedy or Musical and a Satellite Award nomination for Best Dramatic Actress.

In 2020, he is in post-production for 007: No Time to Die, the new film in the James Bond saga, and Blonde, where he will portray Marilyn Monroe, among other productions.

The actress has recently acquired a house in Cuba (2019), a place she visits frequently and with which she feels very connected, as can be seen on her Instagram profile where she is very active. It is common to see her share everyday moments with her family and friends in various locations on the island. Additionally, de Armas has spoken on more than one occasion about the reality of her home country, either through statements or by sharing and supporting with her likes the posts of Cuban activists or actors who denounce the harsh economic, political, and social situation that Cubans are experiencing.
