A Cuban resident in the United States has sparked controversy by stating that she wants to return to live in Cuba, explaining her reasons, which can be summed up as feeling overworked and unhappy.

"I don't care if they criticize me, I don't care what they say about me. I'm going to make the most of these years that life is giving me. I will work hard, I will fight hard to return to my country," she said at the beginning of a short video posted on TikTok.

"I don't care if my country is turned upside down, if my country is in flames. I'm not interested," added the user from the account @yersiye.cuen.

"I’m going back to Cuba, I’m heading to Cuba because, living here in the United States like this, no way, I don’t want that life for myself. I don’t want it; I’d rather die of hunger in Cuba and deal with the blackouts, I’m not interested," she emphasized.

"I prefer to live in Cuba rather than in the United States, because in the end, I don't know where life is worse, whether in the United States or in Cuba. Here we have everything, but I'm not happy, I don't have a smile, I can't do anything, just work, work, work," he added.

"In Cuba, I didn't have money, but I was happy," he concluded.

In the comments section, opinions were divided; some criticized her and urged her to leave immediately, while others understood her reasons and called for respect for others' right to decide. There were even those who identified with the viewpoint expressed.

The comedian Andy Vázquez was one of those who shared the video on Facebook in recent days, and more than 500 users have expressed their opinions by the time this note was published.

"Let’s not judge her; only she knows what she’s going through. If it is her wish, let us respect that, for it is true that the dreams of some have turned into nightmares, for whatever reasons, but they don’t let them sleep," wrote a user.

"Life is sad. So many young people like us are unfortunately still here, practically with no chance of leaving because we can't find a way out economically..." lamented a young man from Cuba, who concluded that "God gives a beard to those who have no jaw."

"Go away, we don't want you, we don't need you," concluded another Cuban from the United States among the thousands of comments generated by the video in the various forums where it has been shared.
