Military student in Bayamo highlights his training: “I do everything following Camilo's example.”

The young soldier emphasized her commitment to discipline and teamwork, stating that being a "camilita" has instilled values in her that she considers essential for her future life.

A student from the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School in Bayamo expressed her pride in being part of the institution, stating that her training is grounded in the values of honesty, discipline, and bravery, which she associates with the example set by Camilo Cienfuegos, also reflecting the indoctrination she receives.

"Everything that is done is following Camilo's example," the young woman declared to the CMKX Radio Bayamo station.

The young woman, who holds the position of battalion leader, emphasized her commitment to promoting discipline and organizing activities within the school, noting that these values make her an "exemplary student."

Furthermore, he stated that being a part of "Camilitos" has shaped skills and principles that, in his words, will be useful for his future: "Being a Camilito has instilled many values in me that will benefit my life."

The testimony highlights the type of training promoted by these military institutions, designed to instill a conduct model based on disciplined compliance with tasks and the adoption of values associated with sacrifice and dedication.

However, it still reflects a rigid educational system that prioritizes obedience and the propagation of official ideals, adhering to "revolutionary" suitability, leaving little room for critical or alternative perspectives.

Enio Ángel Vega Catá, a Cuban citizen who spent 14 years in the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), demonstrated in 2023 that he was living as a beggar, homeless, and abandoned by social services and Cuban authorities.

"At this moment, I am homeless. I have nowhere to live, nothing at all. I served as an officer in the Armed Forces for 14 years and reached the rank of Captain. I studied at 'camilitos', at the La Cabaña Cadet School. I graduated there as a Technical Specialist in Tactical Command," Vega Catá explained to the independent media outlet CubaNet.
