A Cuban recounts an incident that happened to her at Dollar Tree in Miami: "This is not Cuba."

A Cuban woman in Miami criticized the lack of professionalism at Dollar Tree after purchasing 70 decorative papers.

A Cuban woman from Miami, identified on TikTok as Mónica Guilarte (@latoxicasoaps), shared an experience she had while shopping at Dollar Tree for decorative paper for an office project. In her video, she explained that after visiting several stores in the city, she finally found the material she needed at a Dollar Tree and decided to purchase all the available units, around 70, thinking each cost a dollar.

In her account, Mónica explained that the purchasing process became complicated due to the long lines at the store, caused by a shortage of staff. When it was her turn, the wait was extended as the cashier had to scan each product individually. The tension escalated when Mónica noticed that the cashier and a customer behind her were exchanging looks and gestures that she interpreted as mockery.

"She scanned all the products, and the system added them up. I asked her, 'Oh, why so much?' That's when she told me they cost one dollar and twenty-five cents. While I was getting my card out, the cashier glanced at the person behind me and they both laughed. I turned around immediately and asked, 'Did something happen?' Then I looked at the cashier, who replied, 'No, no, nothing.' I'm not someone who stays quiet, and I made those intrusive people feel quite embarrassed," she recounted.

Visibly upset, Mónica confronted both the cashier and the customer for their lack of respect. "You need to be more discreet, because anyone can make a mistake," she stated in the video.

Additionally, the TikToker criticized the poor customer service and pointed out that some employees in these stores seem to show disinterest in their work due to low salaries, although she clarified that this does not excuse unprofessional behavior. "If I'm going to spend money at your business, the least I expect is good treatment as a consumer," she emphasized.

Mónica concluded her video with a direct message to business owners: "Wherever a person goes, there must be good customer service. This is not Cuba or any of those countries. Here, you have to work with a smile on your face."

The video sparked a wave of comments on TikTok, where many users praised its firmness and emphasized the importance of demanding respect and professionalism in any business interaction.
