Relatives of a Cuban living in the United States, who has been in a vegetative state following strokes, are seeking help to raise funds to repatriate him to Cuba, where his mother can take care of him.
Yuderkis Aldana Rosa, 42 years old, has been hospitalized in the U.S. for several months, and his family has turned to social media seeking help to transfer him to the island so that his mother can care for him in his final days.
Lisandra Rodríguez explained in a recent Facebook post that "her family does not have the necessary budget" to cover the cost of airlifting the patient with specialized medical care and added that "medical supplies are also needed for his treatment."
Rodríguez provided the phone number (754) 316-9087 for anyone who wishes to obtain more details about the case or to donate through the Zelle platform.
"Any help will be appreciated," he stated. "Anyone who can assist should contact me; every dollar counts."
At the end of October, Serafín Rosa Rosa, Aldana's uncle, also sought help in the Facebook group "Daddy Yankee Cristiano Oficial," where he explained that his nephew had been in a critical condition for the past four months.
"Pray for the health of my nephew Yuderkis Aldana Rosa, who has been critically ill in the United States for four months with two massive strokes at the Memorial Hospital in Florida. We do not have the money to cover the hospital expenses and to bring him back to Cuba," he said.
Rosa stated that the relatives, from a "poor and rural background," were in a desperate situation and had reached out to various entities in Cuba and the U.S., as they do not have the resources to pay for a plane ticket to bring him to the island.
