Father arrested in Camagüey accused of the death of his five-year-old son

Cuban citizen Aliesky Martínez Ferrer, accused of murdering his five-year-old son and committing multiple acts of violence in the municipality of Minas, Camagüey, was captured in recent hours, according to various reports on social media.

The Facebook page La Tijera reported that before being arrested, Martínez Ferrer, who was a fugitive from justice, entered a unit of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), where he attacked an officer with a machete.

He was finally caught thanks to the use of trained dogs, after taking refuge in a house following a bullet wound and fleeing.

Similarly, journalist Jose Luis Tan Estrada echoed the news: “Several sources confirm the capture of Aliesky Martínez Ferrer, responsible for the horrific crime that took place in Minas,” he wrote.

For his part, communicator Alberto Arego stated, “The residents of Minas, Camagüey, are more at ease now that Aliesky Martínez Ferrer, the murderer of his own five-year-old son, has been captured.”

“Thanks to God, the people of Minas can sleep peacefully because Aliesky has been captured. He is in the provincial hospital,” said neighbors in a Facebook group.

The boy, Edgar Aliesky Martínez Torres, was murdered on November 26 in an act described by feminist platforms as a "vicarious femicide," a type of extreme violence in which the perpetrator kills a third party to inflict suffering on the mother or other relatives.

So far, the authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the capture, although local testimonies confirm that Martínez Ferrer is in custody and receiving medical attention at the provincial hospital. The case continues to provoke outrage and calls for justice in Camagüey.
