"What would you exclaim if you found out that I am one of the 'surprise artists' for the birthday celebration the day after tomorrow? (avoid bad words, but...)," he said, not directly mentioning the grandson, but clearly referring to the controversial event that has become a recurring topic this week.

In recent years, there have been countless occasions where Ulises Toirac has utilized his talent for humor to comment on the numerous misguided policies of the government or the harsh realities faced daily by those living in the country. In April of this year, he complained that his participation in a comedy event at the Bertolt Brecht Café Theater in the Cuban capital was banned.

In June, he reported that the authorities suspended another scheduled performance, this time in Cienfuegos.
