The mother of a four-year-old boy who was injured in a traffic accident in Guantánamo last Friday reported a lack of medical attention for her son at the children's hospital where he is being treated, and requested immediate assistance from neurosurgery specialists.

According to a testimony shared on social media this Sunday by Lía Tito, the mother of the child, both survived a traffic accident in the area of Río Frío. Her son was admitted to the children's hospital, where he initially received care.

However, “the next day it was already forgotten,” stated Tito, who sought assistance to ensure his request reached the neurosurgery specialists so they could attend to the patient.

"The day she arrived, there was a lot of attention, but by the next day, my son was already forgotten. The neurologist came yesterday at three in the afternoon, and hasn’t come today," the mother revealed, expressing concern over symptoms that could indicate a deterioration in the child's health.

"Please, my son has already vomited three times, and we don't know why. They haven't come to do a tomography," Tito lamented.

"My little boy and I survived; it’s a miracle that it wasn’t due to medical negligence," the mother warned, urging for help to make the post go viral.

In the dozens of comments that the post generated, most people advised her to go to the hospital administration as soon as possible to demand proper medical care for the minor. Many also questioned the critical situation and shortcomings of the national health system.

Among the opinions, one stood out from a user named Ramón Gómez Terrero, who identified himself as a doctor and informed the mother that the child's vomiting "is part of the clinical picture of mild head trauma."

"My cautious advice from afar is that your child does not need a CT scan or a neurosurgeon, and I believe you don't either, since you are there supporting your baby during their stay for monitoring. What your child really needs is a doctor who can conduct a thorough examination, address the symptoms they are experiencing, and, most importantly, communicate assertively, humanely, and respectfully with you and your family," the doctor recommended. He also cautioned that his advice was not meant to "justify any malpractice that may have occurred."

Midweek, a mother demanded justice following the tragic death of her son, allegedly due to medical negligence at the "General Luis Milanés Tamayo" Provincial Pediatric Teaching Hospital in Granma province.

Dayanis León, the mother of Kevin, reported that her son was "killed" due to lack of care at that medical center, where she took him at least seven times because of his serious health condition. However, the doctors sent him home without even making a diagnosis. The woman demanded that those responsible face the consequences of their actions.
