Young Cuban in Miami explains why he left his life as a "gigolo."

A young Cuban in Miami explains on Instagram why he stopped being a pimp. He prefers to work with dignity and encourages other young people to pursue a more productive and honest life.

A young Cuban in Miami responded on social media to a follower who asked him why he left his life as a "chulo," a term used to refer to pimps.

In a video shared by influencer Michelito Dando Chucho on his Instagram, the young man listed his reasons for wanting to leave this world: “Number one, because I didn’t want to continue being supported by a woman.”

In his words, he clarified that he even preferred working as a DoorDash delivery driver, as he was doing at that moment, rather than continuing with that life.

"To me, any man who is supported by a woman is not worth a dime. A man is meant to provide; a man is meant to give to a woman, not the other way around," he said very confidently.

"Number two is a world of lies; it’s a world where, if you’re not a drug addict, you’re an alcoholic. It’s a world where the only thing that matters is money, a world filled with darkness, vanity, ego, greed, resentment, and envy. It’s a world full of deceit, and I decided I no longer wanted any part of that. I chose to replace my habits with productive ones, habits that would add to my life rather than take away from it. For these simple reasons, I stopped being a 'chulo,'" this Cuban stated.

The video sparked mixed reactions among internet users on Instagram: “This one read all the self-help books available”; “Strong words from someone who knows their piece is already with someone else”; “Now the person spreading a positive message is seen as the one in the wrong, according to the comments. This world is upside down”; “Instead of taking it positively. These days, it’s all about the party, and any change for the better is welcome”; “This kid is on point, good for him”; “That one got dumped and now hasn’t found anyone to support him, welcome to the world of unprosperous slaves, stop the abuse.”

However, Yand Carlos, the name of this young man who identifies as a personal trainer on his Instagram, thanked Michelito Dando Chucho for posting the video: “Thank you for uploading the video. This way, I can reach more young people out there and change their lives. Blessings.”
