Power outages continue to worsen in Cuba, and the deficit in electricity generation capacity is nearing 1,000 MW.
For this Monday, Three Kings' Day, a demand reduction of 940 MW is forecasted during peak hours.
Power outages began at 6:22 a.m., again concentrated in the central-eastern region due to high energy transfers. By 10:00 a.m., 134 MW were already affected, and by noon, it is estimated that this will reach 500 MW.
According to the report from the Electric Union (UNE), electrical service on Sunday was disrupted from 7:18 AM to 9:42 PM, with a greater impact in the central-eastern region.
The maximum impact was 929 MW at 6:20 PM, coinciding with the peak demand time. This figure exceeded the UNE's forecast by 162 MW, which was 767 MW.
