The elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the appointment of Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight as "special ambassadors" to address the issues that, according to him, Hollywood is facing.

In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump claimed that the three actors will help the entertainment industry, which has lost relevance and international business in recent years, regain its splendor.

"It is an honor for me to announce that Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone will be special ambassadors in a great but very troubled place: Hollywood, California. They will be my special envoys with the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost a lot of business in the last four years in foreign countries, back bigger, better, and stronger than ever," wrote the Republican.

"These three talented individuals will be my eyes and ears, and I will do whatever they suggest," he added.

A conservative team in the mecca of cinema

The three selected actors not only represent prominent names in the film industry but also hold a conservative political stance that has placed them at the center of public debate.

Sylvester Stallone, famous for hits like Rocky and Rambo, has referred to Trump on several occasions as a figure comparable to George Washington.

At a dinner following the electoral victory in November, he referred to him as a "mythical creature" and a renovator of American politics.

Mel Gibson, known for both his acting career (Mad Max, Lethal Weapon) and his role as a director (The Passion of the Christ, Hacksaw Ridge), has not hidden his critical stance towards democratic figures.

At one point, he compared the intelligence quotient of Vice President Kamala Harris to "that of a fence," which sparked controversy.

His career includes not only iconic films but also controversial statements that have been labeled by some groups as racist and homophobic.

Jon Voight, Oscar winner for Coming Home and father of Angelina Jolie, is another strong supporter of Trump.

In his social media, he has repeatedly praised the Republican leader, even describing him as "the best president since Abraham Lincoln."

Additionally, he has criticized the policies of Obama and Biden, accusing them of pushing the country toward socialism. His stance on Israel, religion, and international politics has also made him stand out as a defender of traditional values.

Trump and his relationship with Hollywood

The relationship between Trump and Hollywood has historically been complex.

Despite repeated attacks from much of the artistic community towards him, the Republican has had a select group of supporters in the industry, including the late actress Kirstie Alley and actor Dennis Quaid, who have publicly defended his administration.

In a recent rally, Quaid described him as "the best president of the 21st century."

The appointment of Stallone, Gibson, and Voight strengthens Trump’s strategy of surrounding himself with conservative public figures who are unafraid to challenge the status quo of the film industry.

This trio, along with other names like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and reggaeton artists Anuel AA and Justin Quiles, has supported the elected president in his initiatives and campaigns.

With this strategic move, Trump aims to project a renewed vision for Hollywood, defined by a return to what he describes as "the Golden Age."
