The Cuban content creator @soy_edgy didn't stay silent and responded emphatically to an envious comment he received after sharing videos of the places he has visited since leaving his job at Walmart. In the video, Soy Edgy defended his hard work and success as a content creator, making it clear that his achievements are not mere coincidence.
The comment he responded to said: “Thanks to the followers, he left Walmart and is now traveling, while we remain in the same job, still making anyone famous.” Without filters, the Cuban replied: “First of all, and with all the respect you don't deserve, I'm going to respond this way: I don't force anyone to watch my videos, I’ve never asked any of my followers for a dollar; TikTok pays me for the views. Do you know why? Because I create valuable content.”
He then explained the work behind his videos: “Those short one-minute videos you see take me hours to create; I spend hours writing a script to inform people, to help people find jobs.” He also made it clear what he thinks about envy: “When you come and leave me this message, it lets me know that you’re the kind of person who, by being so focused on the lives and progress of others, has ended up in the same mess that you claim to be in… because envious people like you, even if they have social media, even if things go a little better for them in life, will never feel better.”
Her response did not go unnoticed, and users quickly reacted. "That's how envious people are; they can't stand to see others succeed because it eats them up inside. Congratulations, kid, and let them suffer from your achievements"; "It's true, creating content is a lot of work. I'm glad you're successful and happy"; and "Envy is a bad thing. Whoever God has blessed, may Saint Peter take care of it," commented some followers.
There were also those who advised against wasting energy on these comments: “It doesn't deserve your attention, there are people who got stuck with everything from Pandora's Box”; “Shine and keep shining, and if someone doesn't like it, let them put on glasses”; and “Don’t waste your energy responding, just carry on with your content.”
The video comes days after Soy Edgy left Walmart after nearly two years working the night shift. Although he explained that stress and the work environment led him to resign, the creator has taken the time since then to create content, share tips with his community, and visit places he always wanted to see. Now, with a supportive community that reacts massively to every post, the Cuban makes it clear that he has no time for envy: “I can live off my social media, by informing people, by doing good for the Latino community.”
