A gesture of honesty and solidarity has moved social media users in Cuba, after a "gacela" driver in Havana returned a wallet that had been lost days earlier by a passenger.
The user of Facebook Olga Salomón shared her experience in a post where she detailed what happened. She recounted that the driver of the Route 1 bus, vehicle number 35, informed a passenger dressed in the Etecsa uniform that he had a wallet that someone had left forgotten in his vehicle days earlier.
The passenger, upon learning about the situation, immediately took action to try to locate the owner of the purse. Thanks to her quick efforts, she was able to contact Salomón and provide him with the driver’s details and the identification of the gazelle.
The following day, the driver personally went to Olga Salomón's home to return her wallet, which was completely intact, with all her documents and belongings, including a gold chain with her name on it.
Olga's post was accompanied by words of gratitude towards the driver and towards a worker from the Supervision Department of 19 and B at ETECSA, whose prompt intervention was key in retrieving the lost item. "We showed that we are one big family," wrote Salomón.
