A Hispanic man, 51 years old, whose country of origin has not been disclosed, is in prison after being accused of alleged child abuse against two of his granddaughters, aged 5 and 7.

“We moved in with my in-laws and I never imagined what ended up happening”, said Gladys Chamendis, the mother of the girls, in statements to Univision, who emphasizes that the little girls are telling the truth.

The family was living with the paternal grandparents of the three girls when, after having an argument, the family left the apartment.

Having nowhere stable to live, the grandparents agreed to let the girls sleep at the house during the nights, until they discovered what was happening.

The family, for their part, is asking for help, as after leaving the apartment they are still sleeping in their car and do not have a stable place to live.
