The opinion segment that veteran Cuban journalist José Alejandro Rodríguez had on Canal Habana has been canceled with a phone call. In this manner, a person unrelated to the management of the station informed the affected individual that he was being let go due to an alleged "renewal of programming."

This was explained by José Alejandro Rodríguez himself in a Facebook post shared with his followers and friends. The writing clarifies the reasons that led to the abrupt end of a collaboration in the opinion section of Canal Habana, a platform he has been collaborating with since the early days of CHTV.

The post also noted the unorthodox methods used by Canal Habana to distance this well-known journalist from Juventud Rebelde, who is in charge of the Acuse de Recibo section and has been dedicated for 27 years to gathering readers' complaints and seeking explanations from those responsible for the issues.

"I did not leave. Simply, after a break, I was informed through a third party, not directly by the Channel's management, that a programming revamp was taking place, and that the management had decided that my segment would be discontinued there, as it had been on the air for many years. I was notified by phone, and that was that. My colleague Oni Acosta, a professional whom I deeply respect for his insight and expertise in musical matters, experienced the same situation," wrote José Alejandro Rodríguez on the Meta social network.

According to Rodríguez, this clarification was made to ensure that his absence from the screen is not interpreted as him throwing in the towel during challenging times for the official discourse. "I am not fleeing from my trenches," he emphasized.

The post was filled with comments lamenting what happened and praising the "unique light" that Pepe Alejandro Rodríguez shines with. Some even implied that the journalist's opinions started to become uncomfortable for Canal Habana. Others suggested the possibility that the management of CHTV might reconsider a decision that is hard to understand when it affects professionals with a long trajectory in state-run media.

"Canal Habana needs a renewal in its management, as they fail to fulfill their duty to work for the people, the same people who saw in you a support and a way to solve their problems, which were ignored by the authorities. Many situations found resolution thanks to your interventions. It seems that this management received guidance to eliminate the section that annoyed leaders bothered by demands to work for the community. This situation is very frustrating," wrote an internet user who identifies himself as Rafael Lázaro Rodríguez Macías.

José Alejandro Rodríguez invites his audience to follow his opinions on Hablando Claro and Hablemos a lo cortico, from Radio Rebelde. On Canal Habana, as mentioned by a follower of the journalist, "some were bothered by his comments Sin Tapujos."
