A Cuban who visited the Havana ice cream parlor Coppelia reported that he only experienced bad service there and even found a hair in his ice cream.

"Today, February 20, I decided to return to the iconic Coopelia, a place I hadn't visited in a while. I knew that ice cream prices had increased, but I trusted that this adjustment would mean an improvement in service quality. However, what I experienced was nothing short of disappointment," he explained in a post on Facebook.

He recounted that his first stop was in the K area, where they sell cups of ice cream and cones. "I bought two scoops in a disposable cardboard cup for $70. Although it seemed like a high price, I decided not to make any objections. However, while I was eating my ice cream, something unexpected happened: I found a long hair in my dessert. I tried not to get upset, as I didn't want to ruin my day, but this reflected a lack of attention to detail."

He claims that his frustration didn't end there. He then headed to the area of K and 23 with the intention of trying a "jimagua," which cost $10 more than the regular balls.

"When it was served to me, I noticed that the scoops of ice cream were smaller than I had expected, something I had already experienced during previous visits. I decided not to complain at the moment, but my discomfort increased when, at the neighboring table, a man began to complain about a salad he had received," he explained.

She claims that the waitress took the jimagua and the salad from another customer.

"What I was served was a melted jimagua, topped with what seemed to be ice cream water. Furthermore, the flavors did not match what I had ordered. At that moment, I decided not to continue complaining, but my frustration was evident. I couldn’t understand how, with the price increases, Coopelia was not taking measures to ensure proper service and better product quality," he emphasized.

In her post, she recalled that several outlets, including the news program, had announced that Coopelia would now offer a greater variety of flavors and better quality, something that was not reflected in her experience.

The internet user demanded, "How long will we continue to complain on social media and other platforms without any action being taken against the mistreatment and poor service at Coopelia and other institutions?"

At the beginning of the month, Coppelia announced the increase in prices for its products.
