A young Cuban arrived in the U.S. three years ago, spent one year in jail and another on the street: "I need help."

Her case, shared on TikTok, highlights the vulnerability of migrants and seeks solidarity support.

A young Cuban migrant, whose identity has been kept confidential, arrived in the United States three years ago in search of a better future. However, his experience has been marked by adversity: after a year in jail, the young man has spent another living on the streets, with drugs as his daily companions.

Her case was shared on social media by the user of TikTok Conducta, which shares stories of homeless individuals and provides them with assistance.

The young man said he was a resident of Alamar, in Eastern Havana, when he lived in Cuba, and that he will turn 31 years old on February 25th.

“Take me with you then and help me... I need everything: food, documents”, she said to Conducta.

His testimony, while not revealing the circumstances that led him to engage in situations resulting in his arrest, nor how he fell into drugs, highlights the vulnerability of many migrants.

In the comments section, many shared their opinions on the case, revealing a division of viewpoints.

"He mentioned everything he needs except work. There are paths that cannot be straightened," stated an internet user.

Instead, another person came to the young man's defense, stating, "I see so many people judging without walking in his shoes, and not a single one wanting to help. Today we know where we are, but tomorrow we don't know where we will be."

His opinion was shared by a user who added: "Those who criticize do so because they really have no idea what he's been through and why he ended up there, but he deserves the help; he's a good guy."

In the comments, a user who identified herself as the young man's mother stated that she needed to get in touch with him.
