The heirs of El Taiger are progressing in the legal process to take control of the artistic legacy of the deceased singer and keep his memory alive in the music industry.

Since the tragic death of the artist, murdered in October 2024, his career has been on hold: contracts were frozen, productions were halted, and his legacy remained stagnant.

Now their loved ones are seeking to revive their work and ensure that their music transcends to future generations.

The artist, one of the most influential voices in reggaeton and Cuban urban music, left behind a company linked to his musical ventures.

This would include copyright, unreleased songs, and potential royalties. After his death, his natural heirs would be his four minor children, including Ana Paloma Rodríguez, who is seven years old.

Yuneymis Barreto, attorney at the firm Luis E. Barreto & Associates and legal representative of Ana Paloma Rodríguez, explained in statements to Telemundo 51 that her team submitted a formal petition to operate the company of El Taiger legally.

The request was filed in the probate court, as well as in another parallel judicial instance, with the aim of reactivating the business activities related to the deceased artist's company.

"Last week, there was a hearing where the judge said we had authorization to proceed with all the music, to operate in the name of the company El Taiger, so all his fans are going to be extremely happy," Barreto explained.

According to the lawyer, the court order that allows businesses to operate was granted on March 18, although it has not yet been officially published.

With the legal approval now granted, Barreto clarified that his firm, along with the mother of another of the artist's children, will be responsible for managing the business until the minors reach adulthood.

The immediate goal of this administration is to reactivate the singer's career posthumously.

To this end, they plan to release their music, launch new projects, and facilitate tributes to their figure.

One of the most valuable aspects of the artist's legacy is the unpublished songs and the copyrights that continue to generate revenue.

The money generated from these ventures will be exclusively allocated to the singer's four children.

According to Barreto, “the money earned will be given to the four children and each transaction or contract will be supervised by a judge from Miami-Dade.”

All financial management will be regulated by the probate court of the county, ensuring transparency and legality in the process.

However, the final order from the judge that will determine when El Taiger's company can officially operate is still to be defined.

Additionally, there are outstanding tax issues, as the singer apparently accrued debts with the tax authorities over several years.

On the other hand, this Monday, the decision of the Miami Dade Prosecutor's Office was announced to not seek the death penalty for Damián Valdez-Galloso in the case of the murder of El Taiger, a decision with which his family members have expressed their dissatisfaction.

The decision of the Prosecutor's Office has generated divided opinions among the supporters and fans of El Taiger, who are demanding justice for his murder. While some disagree with the fact that the death penalty is not being sought, others believe that justice will be served if Valdez-Galloso spends the rest of his days in prison.

The Prosecutor's Office stated that if the case goes to trial, they would be seeking life imprisonment for the accused. In addition to the charge of first-degree murder, Damián Valdez-Galloso is also being charged with evidence tampering and possession of firearms.
