What began as a peaceful fishing outing ended in an unexpectedly violent scene for Fernando Cárdenas, a 70-year-old man who was pushed to the ground by a 23-year-old firefighter following an argument over a parking space in southwest Miami-Dade.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night at the intersection of 125 Place and 147 Terrace, an usually quiet residential area.

According to the police report, Fernando Herrera, the alleged aggressor, pushed Cárdenas forcefully, causing him to fall. As a result, the gentleman suffered injuries to his back.

"One can no longer even speak without being attacked."

In statements to Telemundo 51, the victim shared their account of the events and displayed the injuries sustained from the incident.

"I simply told him that they couldn't park there, to use the visitor spaces... and without saying anything, he came and pushed me hard. I fell to the ground," he recounted, visibly affected.

"Look at what they did to me… this isn’t fair; one can’t even speak anymore without being attacked," lamented Cárdenas, displaying visible bruises on his back.

The Miami-Dade police arrested Fernando Herrera shortly after the altercation. During the questioning with the officers, the young man, who works as a firefighter, admitted to having pushed the elderly man.
