An eight-year-old boy has been missing since Saturday afternoon in the waters of Playa Larga, in the town of Boca de Camarioca, province of Matanzas.
The officialist profile Con Todos La Victoria reported this Sunday on Facebook that the minor, whose identity has not been disclosed, was last seen while bathing with family members when he was reportedly swept away by the waves or ocean currents.

According to the Facebook user identified as La Tijera, the minor was on vacation at the beach with his older brother, who is 20 years old, along with a group of friends and family.
In a moment of distraction, the brother left the child in the water next to a girl without adult supervision. Shortly after, the little one vanished, and despite efforts to find him, it remains unclear whether he was swept away by a wave or if he left the beach and got lost in the surrounding area.
The boy is from the municipality of Limonar. The family, desperate, has requested help through social media, asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the number 56474878.

The forces of the Ministry of the Interior and the Integrated Medical Emergencies System participated in the recovery of the body. A witness stated that the teenager was not swimming, but was dragged under while trying to retrieve a flip-flop that had fallen from the wall.
In April, rescuers found the body of Juan Ramón Herrera Silva, a 45-year-old man who had gone missing in the waters of Playa Verraco, in Santiago de Cuba, while he was spearfishing with his father-in-law.
The body was found between Playa Larga and Sigüa by technicians from command 4 Vista Alegre, in an operation complicated by the rough waves.
