Since then, an intensive search and rescue operation has been deployed, involving forces from the Ministry of the Interior, firefighters, the Rescue and Salvage Brigade, as well as neighbors, friends, and family of the boy.

The operations extended throughout the night and continue uninterrupted this Sunday, as confirmed by the publication.

In a moment of distraction, the brother left the child in the water next to a girl without adult supervision. Shortly after, the little one vanished, and despite efforts to find him, it remains unclear whether he was swept away by a wave or if he left the beach and got lost in the surrounding area.

The boy is from the municipality of Limonar. The family, desperate, has requested help through social media, asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the number 56474878.

At the beginning of March, authorities resumed the search for Carlos Javier Sánchez, a 16-year-old teenager who disappeared at the Havana seawall after being swept away by the strong waves.

According to official reports, the young man was last seen in the area of La Punta while swimming, and since then, an operation has been launched with the support of Coast Guard, rescue teams, and local authorities. The Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power of Centro Habana emphasized that the location is not suitable for swimming, especially under adverse weather conditions, like those on that day.

The following day, the discovery of the lifeless body of the minor was confirmed. The search operation had been suspended the night before due to sea conditions and was resumed on Friday morning, culminating in the tragic outcome.

The forces of the Ministry of the Interior and the Integrated Medical Emergencies System participated in the recovery of the body. A witness stated that the teenager was not swimming, but was dragged under while trying to retrieve a flip-flop that had fallen from the wall.

In April, rescuers found the body of Juan Ramón Herrera Silva, a 45-year-old man who had gone missing in the waters of Playa Verraco, in Santiago de Cuba, while he was spearfishing with his father-in-law.
