The Southern Federal University of Russia (SFedU) officially inaugurated its first branch in Cuba, with the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Chernishenko, at a ceremony held at the University of Havana.
The regime highlighted in a post on Facebook that this event marks "a new step in deepening the ties" between both countries, particularly in the educational and cultural fields.

“Russia will always stand by Cuba and assist it in the defense of its sovereignty,” affirmed the newspaper of the Communist Party.
