In just 40 minutes of heavy rain, more than half of Havana was severely affected by flooding, reported the media agency Cuba Hoy.

Neighborhoods such as Centro Habana, Cerro, and areas near the Malecón are experiencing high levels of accumulated water.

The Institute of Meteorology has indicated that atmospheric instability persists in the western part of the country, so new showers are not ruled out in the coming hours.

The Cuban meteorologist Raydel Ruisánchez explained that these adverse weather conditions are due to the prior activity of a cold front, causing frequent showers and thunderstorms.

According to Ruisánchez, "tomorrow, the front that is currently nearly stationary in the western part of the country will move towards the central provinces. This movement will increase the chances of rain, especially during the afternoon, with the possibility that it will be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms."

For the west, he added that the weather conditions will tend to improve, although isolated showers are still expected in the early morning and tomorrow. The day will be cool in this region, with winds coming from the north and sea swells along the northern coast.

The public is advised to stay informed and take the necessary precautions against potential additional impacts.
