A man was arrested this Sunday in the Havana municipality of Centro Habana while trafficking narcotics in that area, according to reports from official profiles on social media.
The man, identified as Page, was allegedly selling drugs in the La Victoria neighborhood, in the Pueblo Nuevo council of Centro Habana, when the police intercepted him.
Thus reported the internet user Elizabeth Ferrer, associated with the Cuban government. In her post, she communicated that the neighbors alerted the police about the "suspicious activity" of that individual, and he was detained.
"The individual known as Page has been involved in the sale of illegal substances", wrote Ferrer, who noted that the man is a former convict with a history of offenses of this nature."
During the arrest, drugs and large sums of money were seized.
The woman stated that he had been apprehended "thanks to the swift intervention of the national police," which has launched a campaign against drugs following constant reports on social media and in independent Cuban media.
