A woman with mental health issues has been missing in Havana for over a week, according to reports from her relatives, who have requested assistance in finding her.
Noemí Salazar León, who is 61 years old and suffers from schizophrenia, left her home in the Playa municipality on the morning of May 4 and has not returned, her brother Lino Salazar reported in posts shared on Facebook, along with a recent photo of her.

Salazar sought help to find his sister, who was wearing a dark jumpsuit and white sandals, and carrying a bag with her documents when she left her home.
"For a week and a day, we have not known her whereabouts. She left on Sunday, May 4, in the morning, and told my parents she was heading to a friend's house, but she has not returned home," he stated.
Noemí "was in the midst of a crisis due to her mental illness and had not had medication for more than a month," her brother noted in the comments section of his post in the group "Missing or Lost Persons in Havana."
Through a user, it was learned that the woman was seen a week ago in a business on 42nd Street in Playa, where she went in to apply for a job. Salazar revealed that her sister "has an obsession with looking for work everywhere and that she worked in a children's circle very close to the house."
He also made Noemí's address public: 39 Street #4214 apt. G2, between 42 and 44, Playa; and provided the phone numbers +53 5 2939303 and +53 5 6044107 for anyone with information about her to contact the family.
In an initial post just a few days after Noemí's disappearance, Salazar explained that his sister "has a very slender build, due to having recently lost a lot of weight because she has been suffering from a mental illness that has greatly affected her, compounded by the lack of medication in our country," which "has caused her schizophrenia to enter into crisis."
This case adds to frequent reports of disappearances of people with mental illnesses in recent years, due to the worsening of their health condition caused by the lack of medication for their treatment.
For almost two months, Doraiky Águila Vázquez, a 48-year-old woman with dementia, has been missing. She left her home in Lawton, in the 10 de Octubre municipality of Havana, on March 15, and since then, her family has had no news of her.
Last week, the family of Cirse Alfonso Ruiz urgently requested help to locate her, following her disappearance on May 5 in the Centro Habana municipality. The woman suffers from mental health issues stemming from a neurological condition.
