A man was arrested after being linked to the theft of numerous bottles of wine from the loading area of a Publix supermarket in North Miami, an incident that occurred in early March.

Authorities identified the suspect as Lenny Cesar González, 44 years old and a resident of that city in Miami-Dade.

According to investigators, González reportedly stole dozens of bottles of wine over several days after entering a restricted employee area at the Publix located at 12800 Biscayne Blvd.

The images captured by security cameras show the accused entering the loading dock between March 8 and March 13.

On March 8th, in one of the recorded thefts, he was seen leaving with 10 bags full of merchandise, including a total of 43 bottles of wine from the brands Merlot, Tailor Made, and Jack Peak, with an approximate value of 796 dollars.

Additionally, according to the police report, González "is a known shoplifter at various businesses in the area."

Prior to his arrest, he was involved in a verbal confrontation with a manager from another Publix store located at 12855 NE Sixth Ave.

He was subsequently arrested and taken to the North Miami Police Department for questioning. He is facing charges of burglary of an occupied structure, grand theft, and trafficking in stolen property.

The police report, accessed by Local 10, also states that "a background check on the accused revealed multiple prior convictions for petty theft."

Until the morning of Thursday, González remained detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, and his bail was listed as "to be set," according to online jail records.
