Robbery at Tiffany's: Thief Tries on Expensive Bracelet and Escapes at Full Speed

Seattle police are searching for a young thief who stole $27,000 worth of merchandise from a Tiffany's jewelry store and ran off wearing the bracelet.

The authorities in Seattle are on the trail of a bold thief who stole a luxury bracelet valued at $27,000 from a Tiffany & Co. store after asking the staff "just to try it on."

The incident recently occurred when the suspect entered the establishment, requested to see the jewelry, and as soon as it was secured on his wrist, he ran out of the store.

A security guard managed to temporarily stop him and tore off his jacket, but the man escaped.

The police report details that the robbery occurred on January 29, around 4:40 p.m., at the jewelry store Tiffany's in downtown Seattle, located in the 600 block of Pine Street.

The suspect is a white man in his 20s, slim, 5'9" tall, and approximately 160 pounds. This person entered the store looking visibly nervous and requested to try on a gold bracelet with diamonds valued at $27,000.

As soon as he put it on, the suspect ran away without intending to pay. During his escape, he struggled with a security guard, who managed to take away his jacket and then the bracelet before he got away. While fleeing, the thief confronted another security agent from the Pacific Place mall and managed to break free.

The bracelet was recovered, but the thief remains at large. The police stated that the suspect may be linked to another similar robbery that took place in December in Bellevue, where another bracelet valued at $16,000 was stolen.

Authorities are requesting citizen collaboration to identify the thief. They released a surveillance video and photos that were shared on May 13.

Another similar case in Florida

This case adds to an even more unusual incident that took place in March, at a Tiffany & Co. store in Orlando, Florida.

Jaythan Gilder, a 32-year-old resident of Houston, posed as a representative of a player from the Orlando Magic, using the alias "Shawn." Dressed in a cap and a red Polo shirt with ripped jeans, he gained access to the VIP room of the venue, where he was shown high-value jewelry.

During the negotiation, Gilder took two pairs of earrings and a diamond ring, valued at over 1.3 million dollars, and ran away.

In his escape, he pushed an employee who tried to stop him, causing injuries. Although he dropped the ring, he managed to flee with the earrings. Later, he was arrested, and it was discovered that he tried to hide the jewelry by swallowing them.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the Seattle case to contact local police. The investigation is still ongoing.
