The Cuban reggaeton artist Chocolate MC proclaimed himself "not guilty" on Wednesday of the new charges presented against him by the Miami-Dade County Prosecutor's Office, for allegedly inciting the murder of Damián Valdez Galloso, who is also accused of killing the fellow Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger.
According to statements from Adolfo Gil, Chocolate's attorney -quoted by the local press- the artist believes he is innocent and trusts that he will be able to prove it when the date of his first hearing is set, as revealed
However, the Prosecutor's Office claims that Chocolate MC offered money in exchange for the death of Valdez Galloso.
At first, he had promised $20,000 and a year of police services, and later, in a post on December 10, 2024, he raised the amount to $100,000.
Additionally, videos are circulating on social media in which Chocolate is heard telling Valdez Galloso: "If the police don't kill you, we will kill you ourselves."
The police have linked the artist's phone number to the account from which these threats were issued.
Chocolate MC is now free after spending nearly a month in a Miami-Dade jail, where he faced six charges.
However, authorities are still searching for him in connection with other crimes in Escambia and Pasco counties in Florida, as well as in the state of Texas.
