Tampa has been named the most relaxing city in the U.S., according to a study commissioned by the consulting firm Sell My Timeshare Now.
The selection takes into account the greenest places, which receive plenty of sunlight and have many activities to offer, explains a report from NBC.
The company justifies its decision by stating that Tampa "is the third largest city in Florida and stands out because it has the second highest amount of daylight hours (on average, more than 10 hours and 37 minutes)."
Additionally, it has "the ninth lowest number of crimes per 100,000 residents (5,584) and the average temperature closest to 66 degrees Fahrenheit with 70 degrees year-round."
The only downside of Tampa has been the traffic congestion; however, on the other hand, there are many places that can be reached on foot.
"While the city has a higher-than-average number of hours lost to traffic congestion (34), a walkability score of 50 (out of 100) indicates that there are many places that can be reached on foot," the study states.
Miami is also among the top of the list
New Orleans ranks second on the list, followed by San Francisco in third place. Miami is in fourth place, and San Diego is fifth.
"Florida's position in the south means that all its cities have a high ranking in terms of temperature and daylight hours, although Miami holds the top spot in the ranking for daylight hours, with 10 hours and 46 minutes," the study states.
However, in the case of Miami, traffic remains a significant handicap. In Miami, more than double the hours are lost due to traffic congestion compared to Tampa. That amounts to 74 hours versus 34.
