The leader of the group Buena Fe, Israel Rojas, fiercely criticized CiberCuba on social media this Tuesday, after a supposed headline from the portal circulated along with a photo of him without a shirt.

However, the image—where he is seen shirtless, supposedly arguing with a worker from the electric company over a blackout—does not belong to any real content from the site and is part of a montage published by Facebook pages that counterfeit the visual identity of the media outlet.

"One day they say I'm privileged because I don't experience blackouts. The next day they talk about some ridiculous piece of news," Rojas wrote in an irritated tone.

In his message, he also suggested that CiberCuba remains silent on sensitive issues such as deportations, genocide in Palestine, or protests in California, while attacking official artists.

The photo in question —which the artist clarified was taken during the filming of an unreleased music video— appeared embedded in a fake post featuring our media's logo and aesthetic.

However, a simple scan of the QR code included in the image reveals that it belongs to an entirely different news story, related to the influencer Musteerifa and his marriage proposal.

The platform has previously warned about the proliferation of profiles and pages that use its graphic identity to spread misinformation, taking advantage of its strong presence in the Cuban news ecosystem.

In a recent editorial note, the outlet pointed out that its popularity has led to its brand being “absorbed by popular culture,” which creates a paradox: while it becomes a recognized symbol, it also becomes a target for manipulations and fake news.

"Our image has become synonymous with news in the collective imagination. But it is also used to publish lies disguised as truth," warned the CiberCuba team.

"Golden rule: if the news does not appear on our platforms, it is a fabrication," reiterated the outlet, which is a frequent target of attacks from official figures from the Cuban government such as Israel Rojas.
