The police allegedly "caught him red-handed," according to the post shared on social media.

The authorities accuse him of an attack on railway infrastructure, an act that could have resulted in a serious accident with fatal consequences.

“Now you will have to pay for committing an attack against the train, which could cause an accident on the tracks, where many people could be injured,” warned the text shared by the official communicator.

In May of last year, the People's Supreme Court of Cuba announced that crimes affecting the country's strategic infrastructures, such as trains, the electrical system, photovoltaic parks, and telecommunications, will be classified as sabotage, one of the most serious offenses outlined in the current Cuban Penal Code.

The decision was communicated through the Dictamen 475, issued on May 23, 2025, by the Government Council of the highest judicial body, and shared this Thursday via its official profile on Facebook.

In recent months, there has been a surge in vandalism across various parts of the country, with actions that directly impact key infrastructures.

Individuals have been caught in the act of stealing reinforcing bars in railway areas of Havana, while in other locations, attacks with stones on public transport buses have been reported, for which several suspected perpetrators have been arrested.

In response to the increase in such incidents, authorities have begun to implement drastic measures in certain areas of the country, and a growing vulnerability has been reported in telecommunications services, with dozens of incidents affecting ETECSA networks.
