Kuki's mother, daughter of Alexander Delgado, has passed away after a year-long battle with cancer: “I am proud of how strong she was.”

The Cuban influencer Kuki Delgado, daughter of the popular musician Alexander Delgado, a member of the duo Gente de Zona, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media this Tuesday following the death of her mother, Noemí, who passed away due to cancer that was diagnosed a year ago.

In a series of posts on her Instagram profile, Kuki expressed her pain, gratitude, and admiration for her mother, whom she described as a brave, loving, and resilient woman. “A year ago my mom was diagnosed with cancer... yesterday I lost my mom because of this disease, and it was a very hard process that took a long time and involved a lot of suffering,” she wrote.

With deeply emotive words, Kuki thanked her mother for raising her alone and for being a pillar in her life. “Mine, proudly saying it, was the best. She was always by my side, hand in hand. Today I am grateful to have known you, to have chosen you as my mom,” she expressed. In another part of her farewell, she remarked: “I wasn’t ready, I know I still need you, but I am aware that this makes me grow as a person.”
