A Venezuelan driver residing in Miami for the past nine years has gone viral after sharing a video in which she advises against emigrating to the city if one plans to live off delivery apps or transportation services like Uber, Uber Eats, or DoorDash. "This city is not for you," she states emphatically.
In the video, shared from her vehicle during a rainy day, the woman – identified on social media as @sarytips – shows the congested traffic, the interior of her car filled with orders, and her visibly wet face. "I have lived in Miami for nine years, and I feel that this is the worst time in this city. The worst economic crisis," she laments.
"I've been trying to deliver an order for three hours. In that time, I will make 30 dollars. Is it profitable? No. Should they come? No, they should go." he states.
Mother of a family, @sarytips explains that she only works during her children's school hours and that living off of delivery is no longer sustainable for her. “I’ve been doing delivery for nine years, driving for Uber, Uber Eats, DoorDash. But getting wet for fun to make 30 dollars in three hours is outrageous,” she laments.
In the images, which quickly sparked debate on social media, a striking statement summarizing their message can be read: “Don't come to Miami to live. If you make apps, this city is not for you.”
