The accident occurred in the area of SW 14th Street and SW 68th Boulevard, just a mile away from North Perry Airport, where the aircraft, a Cessna T337G, was attempting to land for reasons that have yet to be clarified. According to local police, the pilot and the three passengers were able to exit the vehicle on their own after the impact with a tree, but all were taken to nearby hospitals. The 16-year-old girl was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital as a Level 1 Trauma patient, while the other three injured individuals were classified as Level 2 Trauma. Among the passengers was also another minor aged 13.

Witnesses described to Telemundo the moment of impact as a scene of terror. "It sounded like a truck tipping over with huge stones... then we saw the smoke," recounted a neighbor.

The swift reaction of the community prevented more severe consequences: some neighbors rushed to the scene with axes, hoses, and fire extinguishers to help control the fire and assist the injured.

“My son, who is a lifeguard, started taking care of the people on the plane,” said Giovanna Hanley, a resident of the area.

The mayor of Pembroke Pines, Angelo Castillo, reported that this is not an isolated incident. “There have been more than 36 accidents in the last five years at North Perry Airport. We have run out of patience. This community wants to feel safe,” he stated.

Castillo demanded that the Broward County Commission conduct a thorough investigation into airport security.

While the investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) continue, several streets in the area remain closed and emergency operations are still ongoing.
