ICE detains Cuban baseball player Daniel Tomás, brother of Yasmani Tomás

The former Cuban baseball player Daniel Alejandro Tomás Pardo, who was part of the Industriales team in the National Series, was detained by agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Saturday, July 12, in the state of Mississippi, sources close to the case, who requested to remain anonymous, reported to CiberCuba.

According to the official record from the Madison County Detention Center, Daniel Tomás, 29 years old and originally from San Miguel del Padrón, was admitted to the center at 12:09 AM on July 13, 2025 on the charge of "illegal entry - foreigner", with no bail set.

The arrest occurred as he was leaving his workplace in the town of Madison, Mississippi. A few days later, the former catcher and outfielder from the capital was transferred to the Jena/LaSalle Detention Center in Louisiana, where he currently remains, according to records accessed by this outlet.
